From Our Principal

Meet Mrs. Christine Fitzsimmons
Silverhawk Families,
I am very humbled and honored to introduce myself as the principal of The Traditional Academy at Bellair. I can assure you that I share in this school community's dedication to caring for our students every day while providing them with a meaningful, safe learning environment.
Although I am an educator, I am also a wife and mother. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 31 years and have three amazing children. My husband's name is Rodney, and he has been working in the private education sector for more than 20 years. My oldest daughter's name is Courtney (30), Jennifer (25) and Joseph (24).
The 2024-25 school year will mark my 22nd year in education. I have served as a 6th grade teacher in the Marana Unified School District for 9 years, where I served on teacher evaluation committees, was a grade level lead, was the Student Council Sponsor and coached middle school basketball. I then moved on to the charter world for 10 years, and am very excited to be back in a traditional school district.
I am honored to be a part of the Deer Valley Family. I love the Bellair Community, teachers, students and all of the families that choose to send their child/ren to our wonderful school! I can't wait to celebrate our successes throughout the 2024-2025 school year.
